Ecolizer Exhaust System:Studio Project 2
With a broader project description, my second studio project group chose to center on the shared interest of automobiles and the general class concern of eco-friendly design. The result of our endeavor is the still in progress concept of Ecolizer Exhaust, a system that not only filters exhaust particulates but also captures greenhouse gas emissions for conversion to bio-fuel.
Power Trip: Studio Project 1
Charged with the objective of improving a commonly used household object in
terms of environmental impact, my teammate and I took on the challenge of
solving some of the issues with wall mounted power transformers, or “Wall
Warts”. Power transformers were an obvious choice not only because of their rising popularity with electronics producers, but because of the power they waste when in use and on standby. According to some figures, these wastes could account for a very large percentage of the average American’s power usage.
Pot In Pot Cooler: Studio Project 1
The Award Winning Pot-In-Pot Cooler! Designed after the original Pot-In-Pot Cooler, my PDI studio group's model included improvements of various types designed to ease operation and increase the effectiveness of the original design.
The pot in pot cooler is a simple device that allows for the cooling of produce with little more than clay sand and water. This summer, my design group may further investigate improvements that can be made to this system.
F.A.I.R. Hearing Aids: Studio Project 2
F.A.I.R. Hearing aids are my solution to difficult to replace hearing aid batteries, and expensive replacement batteries.
LightWear: Studio Project 3
The assignment was to create an absurdest product, the wilder the better, that would help curb behavior that was socially or environmentally irresponsible.
With our underwear-based, text message sending deterrent to energy wasting,
my design group felt our project came together to meet the goals perfectly.
